The faculties of Nursing and Physiotherapy, Medicine and Science at the University of the Balearic Islands have today, on Monday 16th March, been preparing an inventory of available medical resources and material at the UIB.
They have tallied products including masks, swabs, protective goggles, single-use gloves, overalls and waterproof gear, and disinfectants. A lot of this material is in everyday use in research activities, especially in practical sessions at laboratories and mock clinical sessions at the university.
This step has been taken to help health authorities monitor and take decisions, in accordance with Order SND/234/2020 of 15th March on making provisions, taking containment measures and sending information to the Ministry of Health in light of the health crisis due to COVID-19.
From tomorrow, the Ministry of Health will be notified about the material at the UIB and it will be placed at its disposal.
The UIB Executive Council would like to thank all the teams in the Offices of the Dean and departments involved in the undertaking to ensure this step has been possible.
