The UIB prepares to reopen the campus, Sa Riera and other island sites on 15th June

Els estudiants podran accedir a les instal·lacions amb cita prèvia

The UIB Executive Council met on Tuesday 2nd June and agreed on a resolution to schedule the gradual re-opening of the campus and the Minorca and Ibiza-Formentera sites, as well as a scaled return of lecturers, admin and services staff, and the opening of services and centres.

The university has set up an appointment service so that undergraduate and postgraduate students are able to do admin procedures related to certain services and offices. Appointments can be arranged over the following website: <citaprevia.uib.cat>. In this way, students will be able to contact the Student Affairs and Academic Management Service, as well as the admin units at the university sites and centres in Minorca, Ibiza and Formentera.

Wherever possible, working from home will continue, with teaching and research staff gradually returning to the campus over the coming weeks in line with the guidelines set by the Prevention Service and without surpassing 50% staff capacity in each department. Since approval of the Action Protocol to prevent the spread of COVID-19 (SARS-Cov-2) drafted by the UIB Prevention Service, the return of researchers to their activities, as well as admin and services staff, has been organised over the last few weeks.

Buildings will begin to reopen from 15th June, providing basic services; certain still-to-be-decided cafeterias on the campus will also begin operating. The following internal services and external services will also open again, in line with health and safety regulations: Reprographics, Library and Documentation, CampusEsport and bank branches.

The Library and Documentation Service shall continue to provide loans by appointment only. The campus libraries themselves are also being prepared for re-opening, although an appointment will be necessary and students with special needs shall be given priority. The appointment desks are numbered and users must maintain the safety distance established by the health authorities.
