Eight research and laboratory groups, and four university research institutes at the University of the Balearic Islands have made their scientific and human resources available to health authorities to analyse COVID-19 samples.

In total, 33 machines and 32 lab technicians have been made available to analyse SARS-CoV-2 samples via PCR. This will help to speed up the rate of sample testing, which is key to determining positive cases of COVID-19.
