The Group of Nine Universities offers a mutual support plan for students who, during the state of emergency, are residing in an autonomous region different to that of their home university

The plan aims to support students from the nine member universities

The Group of 9 Universities (G9) has implemented a mutual support plan for students at their universities who, during the state of emergency, are living in an autonomous region different from that of their home university. The plan covers three pillars:

1) Support for online activities (classes and assessment)

The G9 universities commit, as far they can, to providing the same support to visiting students as their own, where there is evidence that they are having connectivity or technological issues. This may include lending laptops, supplying SIMs with data plans and computer material.

Moreover, spaces have been set up (computer rooms) either at university buildings on in other public buildings to provide internet access for students who are having technological issues. These spaces may be used by mobility students as long as there are enough places.

2) Support for face-to-face activities

Where visiting students need to take a face-to-face test, and as long as the university has set a date for these examinations, a space will be set up, where possible, that complies with the safety and supervision conditions for them to take the test.

3) Support for mobility

The host university must provide these students will the permission to move around, in the same way and conditions as their home students.

For the points set out above, the student's home university shall send the host institution the documentation required to accredit their ties to the university and their submitted requirements.

The Group of 9 Universities (G9) comprises the nine universities that are the only public institutions in their respective autonomous region, i.e. Cantabria, Castile-La Mancha, Extremadura, Balearic Islands, Oviedo, Basque Country (UPV/EHU), Navarre (UPNA), La Rioja and Zaragoza. They represent a total of 170,000 students, 19,340 lecturers and researchers (PDI) and 8.160 admin and services staff (PAS).
