Serà UIB - closer to you than ever

2,200 participants at the Open Days and 800 in the talks for parents in the new online programme for the University Transition and Orientation Programme (PortUIB)

Lockdown has not dampened our spirit for work at Seràs UIB. The portal for future University of the Balearic Islands students has used the digital environment for continued promotion, guidance and advice on university studies. In no time, it has adapted study resources, techniques and activities, such as Science for All, the Online escape room and Experiments at home.

PortUIB has successfully managed to transfer its programme online, welcoming 2,200 participants to the Online Open Days, to get to know the degree programmes at the UIB, and up to 800 parents to the Online talks offering guidance about primary, secondary and higher education stages. Moreover, it has given 33 presentations on UIB degree programmes, as well as information sessions and workshops about grants, mobility programmes and other guidance and study services and resources.

Summer Programme

In the month of June, Seràs UIB has scheduled a wide variety of activities and is also offering new online guidance resources, which can be viewed on the Now more than ever, we are at your side! webpage.

The activities include the 3rd Humanities and Social Sciences Summer Campus, the 11th Science and Technology Summer Campus and the Young Scientists Online Day, the registration for all three being open until 12th June. In addition, there are online tools, such as factsheets or surveys about educational guidance, managing studies and techniques to acquire skills for career success; and games such as Discover prehistory and painting material for children. The activities combine learning and having fun with a view to letting everyone get to know the UIB from their own home.
