The extraordinary session will be held on 8th, 9th and 10th September 2020, and registration may be formalised between 22nd and 24th July
Students will be able to formalise their registration from the university entrance exams 2020 from Monday 25th to Friday 29th May.
Those who are taking or have taken their high school diplomas at schools in the Balearic Islands either this year or earlier can register at their schools via GestIB. They should contact their schools in the event of any incident during the registration process.
In turn, students from outside the Balearic Islands and from overseas education systems with qualifications accredited as equivalent to Spanish high school diplomas may register over the website during the same timeframe. In this instance, they should contact the Student and Academic Affairs Service in the event of any incident during the registration process.
In light of the uncertainty caused by the health crisis, we recommend students check the PBAU webpage (pbau.uib.cat) frequently, where they will find all information regarding any possible changes.
PBAU 2020
The Regional Department of Education, University and Research, and the University of the Balearic Islands agreed that the ordinary session for the 2020 exams will take place on 7th, 8th and 9th July.
Given the difficulties experienced in finishing the syllabus for the subjects under assessment, finding time to review, look further into and specifically prepare for the examination, and in order to ensure university entry is fair for all, the UIB has introduced changes to the examination format with a view to:
· Students not being disadvantaged to due not having covered subject blocks in any area. Thus, top marks must be possible without having to answer questions on these subject area blocks
· The exam papers not being any different to those provided to students and teachers by other universities for the 2019-20 school year. In this way, the UIB aims to contribute to maintaining and encouraging calm in light of the sudden uncertain circumstances
· The exams being in line with the format put forward in PCM Order 139/2020 of 17th February that sets out the characteristics, design and content of university entrance examinations and the deadlines for review procedures for marks obtained in the 2019-20 school year.
