PBAU tests to be held between 22nd June and 10th July

The Regional Department of Education and the University of the Balearic Islands will soon set the final dates for students in the Balearic Islands

The ministries of Education and Vocational Training and Universities have, alongside the autonomous regions, agreed that the High School University Entrance Exams (PBAU) shall take place between 22nd June and 10th July, with resits to be held on 10th September. The decision was taken at today's videoconference meeting of the Sector Conference on Education.

It was also agreed to modify the model and content of the tests to ensure that students suffer the least amount of disruption due to not having worked in class on particular content in any of the subjects. Moreover, they agreed that the PBAU marks would be released before 17th July for the first round and before 18th September for the resits. The final allocation of places may not take place before 25th September.

Dates in the Balearic Islands

The University of the Balearic Islands and the Regional Department of Education, University and Research plan to meet soon to set the final dates for the PBAU for students in their final year of high school on the islands.

The UIB and the Regional Government of the Balearic Islands had agreed on a joint position in favour of postponing the PBAU this year. The government and the UIB concur that it is appropriate to push the PBAU to later dates given the state of emergency and that it is necessary to focus, above all, on students in their final year of high school set to sit the exams so that they suffer the least amount of disruption possible. Moreover, both institutions agree that the postponement should in no way represent a change the single district doctrine.
