Ten healthy ideas to deal with the Coronavirus crisis from home
Let's use our common sense: if the university has temporarily suspended its activities and implemented online teaching and work, we should stay at home and not have meetings or other activities that involve contact with other people.
The aim is to avoid mass contagion of the SARS-CoV-2 virus whilst, at the same time, ensuring the health system does not collapse and all those who are ill receive the proper care. Resources are limited and it is your responsibility to take steps calmly and respect your own and everybody else's wellbeing.
How can we avoid spreading the virus?
Here you have ten healthy ideas to deal with the Coronavirus crisis from home:
- Wash your hands regularly with soap and water or antibacterial solutions.
- Avoid as much as possible touching your eyes, nose and mouth, and keep a safe distance of 1-2 metres from others.
- Remember to stay calm and act responsibly. If you think you have any symptoms (dry cough, fever or breathing problems), stay home and call 902 079 079 / 971 43 70 79 and if you need urgent attention, call 061. Follow the instructions that the health professionals give to you.
- Stay home and avoid social events - you are not on holiday!
- Cut down on any travel and if you need to go out, take the maximum precautions.
- If you need to do group work, use the available online collaboration tools and technology.
- Avoid contact with at-risk groups for whom infection could be particularly dangerous.
- Shop responsibly and buy only what you need to avoid crowds and food waste.
- Check official information sources and do not pass on messages of panic or rumours that are unsubstantiated and, if you receive any, report it.
- If you follow what we've set out above, you can do healthy body and mind activities in the open air, in contact with nature and without crowds.
